Holograph letter written from Manila, PI, 29 August 1905 to a Miss Hazelton of Boston, MA, enclosing a paper placemat, a souvenir from a dinner given by ADM Charles J. Train for Russian sailors, survivors of the Battle of Tsushima, Russo-Japanese War, 1904-05. Chase describes himself, his pride in the Navy and hopes to meet her when he returns.
